Broken things
My laptop is officially on the fritz. It crashes within minutes of start-up, and the back light to the LCD screen is intermittent. I'm sending it in for service, but I don't know how I'll get through classes in the meantime. I guess I'll go back to old-fashioned handwritten notes, although that's hard to do when professors speak a mile a minutes. On the bright side, at least I won't be distracted by the Internet.
My dysfunctional computer is only half the reason I haven't blogged much lately. I also was scrambling to arrange a research assistant position so I have enough credits to graduate, and I was in the middle of a flurry of job applications (and the all-but-inevitable rejection letters). Fortunately, most of that should be settled by now, and I got an offer for a job yesterday that I think I'll take.
